Valentin L. Gomez

Executive Chef

Valentin was born in Oaxaca Mexico. The son of farmers, he grew up with a holistic understanding of agriculture and natural food preparation. After completing high school in Oaxaca, he moved to NYC for an opportunity to advance his culinary career, starting as a kitchen assistant in the Van Dam Diner.


Over the last 20+ years Valentin's experience has flourished, cheffing in Greek, American, Korean, Salvadorian, and Mexican restaurants and catering facilities. His experience has uniquely poised him to manage Between The Bread's globally diverse menu for catering and events. Pedro has been with Between The Bread for 7 years, and currently supervises all food production from BTB's primary kitchen in Midtown West.
